New York Governor Kathy Hochul announced $8.3 million in grants for 59 food banks and pantries to help pay for refrigerated trucks, freezers and warehouse repairs as demand for food assistance rises.
She also pledged to keep free breakfast and lunch available to all 2.7 million New York students, despite federal SNAP cuts that could threaten school meal funding.
The grants include about $660,000 for the Finger Lakes and $580,000 for Western New York, including funding for Foodlink in Monroe County.
