Early voting continues this week in New York State, and the Monroe County Board of Elections says over 37,000 voters have cast ballots since early voting opened on Saturday. Officials said first-day turnout was almost double what Monroe County saw on the first day of midterms four years ago and close to what they saw in the 2024 presidential election. Greece Town Hall drew in the most voters, more than 1,700 on Saturday, and it was one of nine locations to draw at least 1,000 people.

About 9,000 people came out to vote on the second day. The Board of Elections said it did not expect such a large turnout but was prepared for it and found it exciting to see so many people voting. More than 24,000 people voted during the first weekend, according to the Monroe County Board of Elections. Officials said that number is between the average midterm turnout and the average presidential turnout, but total turnout is still less than 1% of eligible voters.
