Violence In Rochester We ALL Have To Work Together
Written by Andre on November 15, 2021
In Rochester, the past 48 hours have been very difficult because of the violence. We are seeing and experiencing violence in a way we have never before. We now have the highest amount of homicides we have ever had in this city. This is tough to understand and even harder to deal with.
So where do we go from here? I don’t know… How do we fix this? I don’t know…
At this point, it’s genuinely hard to say. What we can do is try to work together as a community to make a difference and that means all hands on deck. It has to be everyone. This is not an impossible task but it will be very difficult because working together would include working with the police and government. It will include some to have to tell the police their cousin or brother was the one who took another person’s life.
The real question is are we ready to change? Are we ready as individuals to deal with everything we should have been dealing with and healing from, to begin with?
We will make the biggest impact by working on ourselves individually so that we actually can ALL work together to deal with this violence.
I wanted to share this video clip that was the point of this blog but for whatever reason, I started typing and the above came out.
In the video clip, RPD Captain Frank Umbrino is addressing the violence in a press conference and he said something I have never heard law enforcement officials say.
If you want people in the community to help you have to make sure they will be safe. Politicians this one is on you to fix no matter what we ALL have to do our part. THIS is unacceptable.
the federal VIPER task force is still active. But Umbrino says the task force is designed to track down and arrest wanted individuals.
The task force also works to see if federal charges are warranted, “because we know nobody in Rochester gets kept in jail any more,” he says pic.twitter.com/Lyij9NhErK
