Tyra Banks Chosen To Host Dancing With The Stars

Businesswoman and former supermodel, Tyra Banks will be replacing Tom Bergeron as the new host of Dancing With The Stars.

She will also be an executive producer for the show, according to a statement from ABC Studios.

In media release, Banks said:

“Tom has set a powerful stage and I’m excited to continue the legacy and put on my executive producer and hosting hats. I will do my best to honor its legacy while also injecting new ideas to reach new generations of audiences.”

The change in leadership comes from a decision from officials to try and increase the show’s poor ratings. In the past they have brought on political guests to try and shake things up, but it didn’t do much for the numbers.

ABC’s network president, Karey Burke seems very exited to have Banks on board. She released a statement as well, saying:

“Tyra is an award-winning multihyphenate whose fierce female prowess and influence across many industries have made an indelible mark.”
