The Big Boss Rick Ross is taking on 2 Chainz in the Verzuz battle on Instagram Thursday August 6th at 8pm.

Ricky Rozay has a lot of hits under this belt such as “Aston Martin Music,” “Stay Schemin,” “B.M.F (Blowin’ Money Fast),” “Diced Pineapples,” “The Boss” and of course “Hustlin.’” His debut album Port of Miami debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. He has been nominated for five Grammy Awards.
2 Chainz has a long list of hit records as well such as “No Lie,” “Good Drank,” “It’s a Vibe,” “Birthday Song,” “Watch Out,” “I’m Different,” “I Luv Dem Strippers” and “Big Amount.”
Since the Covid pandemic effectively shut down concerts and festivals across the globe, artists have been performing virtually. There is no larger virtual stage than the Verzuz battle created by Swizz Beats and Timbaland.
Exactly one year ago, Rick Ross dropped the highly anticipated Port of Miami 2 album.
I was in Miami along with the Rochester Association of Black Journalists for the 2019 NABJ conference.
Fast forward to 2020 and the conference and Rozay are confined to the Internet due to health concerns and social distancing protocols.
It’s amazing how many freedoms we took for granted back then. But for now, I’ll continue to enjoy these virtual performances and parties.
