Trump to Meet with NY Governor Hochul Over Pipeline and Congestion Pricing

President Donald Trump met with New York Governor Kathy Hochul at the White House on Friday to discuss key infrastructure issues, including a natural gas pipeline and congestion pricing in New York City.
The Constitution natural gas pipeline, previously blocked in 2020 over water permit concerns, is back on the table, with Trump claiming it could save families $5,000 in energy costs across New York and New England. He expressed confidence in reaching an agreement but stated he is willing to use federal authority if necessary.
The meeting will also address New York City’s congestion pricing plan, which charges $9 for most vehicles entering Manhattan during peak hours. Trump has been a vocal critic, celebrating a rollback of the policy and declaring “Congestion pricing is dead” on Truth Social. Hochul has pushed back, arguing the plan is reducing traffic and improving transit efficiency.
With tensions high between Trump and Hochul, this meeting could determine the future of energy policy and urban transportation in New York.
