Trump Forms Task Force to Combat ‘Anti-Christian Bias’ After Prayer Breakfast

Written by on February 9, 2025

Following the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, President Donald Trump announced the formation of a task force to address what he calls “anti-Christian bias” in the U.S. Led by Attorney General Pam Bondi, the task force will investigate alleged discrimination against Christians in federal agencies like the DOJ, IRS, and FBI. Trump also signed an executive order directing the task force to identify and address unlawful policies or actions against religious believers.

In addition, Trump launched a White House faith office, headed by longtime religious advisor Paula White-Cain, and a commission on religious liberty. His announcements drew both support and criticism, with conservative groups praising the effort while organizations advocating for church-state separation warning of government overreach.

During his remarks, Trump reflected on surviving last year’s assassination attempts, saying his faith had strengthened. However, critics argue that in a predominantly Christian country, claims of widespread anti-Christian bias are unfounded and could be used to justify discrimination against religious minorities.

Trump’s initiatives signal a broader effort to align his administration with conservative religious values while rolling back progressive policies on diversity and LGBTQ+ rights.
