This weekend, the Strong National Museum of Play and RIT’s National Technical Institute for the Deaf hosted a ‘Deaf Day of Play.’ Throughout Sunday, students from the NTID’s Department of American Sign Language and Interpreter Education Bachelor of Science in Interpreting Program celebrated the richness of Deaf culture in Rochester and provided ASL assistance at the Strong Museum’s admissions desk and its Skyline Climb High Adventure Course.

Danny Maffia, Program Director, stated: “Rochester has the largest deaf population per capita in the country and so its important to make spaces like this accessible for deaf people.”
