Seneca Park Zoo Lion Back In Den After Escaping Into Hallway

Written by on September 4, 2021

Do you remember last year when people joked about all the animals getting loose from the Seneca Park Zoo? Well turns out this time, it was actually true. Yesterday morning, a lion at the Seneca Park Zoo briefly left her den, which forced guests to vacate a part of the park. According to the Seneca Park Zoo, during routine care duties with the African lions, one of the lions wandered into a hallway in the holding building. Staff was fortunately able to move quickly and safely and the lion returned to her den.

Seneca Park Zoo superintendent released a statement, saying the public was not in danger even though visitors were asked to leave a section of the zoo during the incident, in accordance with Zoo protocols.
