School Superintendent In Geneva On Leave After Complaint

Written by on September 28, 2021

Another Superintendent is facing allegations in New York State. Geneva School Superintendent Patricia Garcia is on leave after a complaint was filed against her.

A complaint regarding the management of personnel was received by the Geneva Board Of Education. An outside investigator was hired to look into the complaints filed against Garcia. The acting superintendent Kathleen Davis has been appointed by the school board.

There is no information on the type of complaints filed.

Maybe this is just a coincidence (I do not believe in coincidences but for the sake of argument we will go with it) but this is another woman of color with an allegation. In the past year in our community, we have witnessed more black women in powerful positions face allegations or drama in the media than I could ever remember. But, yet not one of them has actually been convicted or found with any wrongdoing.

At some point you have to question what is going and why is this happening. Is it because of the fact that a black woman is holding a leadership position? Or could it be because this is creating real systemic change in our community and in America?

Is this an attack on black and brown women?

My answer and thought are YES but I would love to know what you think and feel. Call or text 585-678-1039 to comment on this topic or go to the WDKX app on Android or Apple and tap the mic and leave your thoughts.
