Matt Drouin, a landlord in Greece who owns over 117 properties was on craigslist the other day, when he saw an ad that listed one of his homes for $45,000.
“I came to find out it was a tenant that was posing as me, the property owner, looking to ‘sell’ the property and collect cash,” according to Drouin.
People who saw the ad actually went and surveyed the property. One person who went said the tenant showed him around the house, but something felt off the whole time.
“When I dove deeper into it, I knew something shady as going on, he was trying to collect cash up front. And I was like ‘that’s not how this stuff works,’” says the man who wished to remain anonymous.
