Rochester Residents Split on Border Surveillance Plan

U.S. Customs and Border Protection may install a surveillance tower in Rochester by 2032 as part of a national border security expansion.

The tower would use infrared cameras to monitor a seven-mile radius along Lake Ontario.

While some residents support it for safety, others are concerned about privacy.

The community remains divided.
