Rochester City Council Votes on Budget

Written by on June 15, 2022

Last night, the Rochester City Council voted against Rochester City School District’s budget for 2022-2023, and passed the city’s budget at a public budget review. The city’s budget passed by a vote of 6-3, while every council member voted against the already-approved school budget.

While being asked why they chose to vote against it, Councilman Patterson called the district’s budget process a sham, citing Board of Education vice president Beatriz LeBron voting against it: “They couldn’t tell us how many kids were in the district. They couldn’t tell us how many staff they employed.”
