Jacob Weinstein, a 37-year-old Rochester City Council candidate, faces legal trouble after leading New York State Police on a high-speed chase.
Pleading not guilty to multiple misdemeanor charges and traffic violations, Weinstein reportedly failed to stop for a police vehicle on March 7, leading troopers on a dangerous pursuit through the city.
He disregarded traffic laws, including speeding and running red lights, before ultimately being apprehended after attempting to flee on foot in Brighton.
His charges include unlawful fleeing, obstruction of governmental administration, and reckless driving. Weinstein, also known as Jake Bishop, announced his candidacy for City Council on January 31.
