After two years of hard work, road crews have finished the $7.7 million Mt. Read Blvd reconstruction project, according to an announcement from Governor Andrew Cuomo.

It all started in April, 2019 with major reconstruction along a mile stretch of the boulevard between Lyle Ave and Buffalo Road.

The main goal of the project was to reduce lane numbers, add a center turning lane, remove the concrete median, increase shoulder space and resurface the pavement.

Governor Andrew Cuomo said this about the success:

“Even in the face of a global pandemic, we are continuing to rebuild our infrastructure to meet the needs of the 21st Century. This project on Mount Read Boulevard, an important travel corridor in the City of Rochester, will enhance safety and mobility for all commuters while helping to further revitalize the local economy and move the Finger Lakes forward.”
