RG&E, NYSEG Face Millions in Penalties for Reliability Issues

New York State is penalizing RG&E and NYSEG after both failed reliability standards in 2025.

RG&E will lose $5 million in revenue, while NYSEG faces a $3.5 million penalty after missing outage benchmarks for the seventh straight year. 

State officials say the penalties will not be paid by customers.
