RG&E Addresses Billing Issues

Have you noticed any discrepancies in your recent RG&E bills? Well, the company has finally acknowledged several reasons why customers may be seeing higher gas and electric bills. According to RG&E, the company is catching up on meter readings they missed during COVID and it led to some customers going months without getting a bill.
Terri Vanbrooker, VP of Customer Service, stated: “They may be seeing that they are using as much as they have used in the past but the price of that is higher but one thing I want to make clear about that is RG&E purchases commodity on behalf of customers and we don’t charge any more than what we purchase it for so we don’t make any money on that commodity price…We got backlogged there and now as we are trying to clear that backlog and push those bills out the door customers are seeing what could be up to a three-month bill.”
