Rev. Raphael Warnock Is Projected To Become Georgia’s First Black Senator

According to projections, Rev. Raphael Warnock has been elected to be the first Black Senator of Georgia.
The Reverend is the first Democratic Senator to be elected to Georgia in over 20 years.
Some of the credit should go to local activists and House leader Stacey Adams, for their effort in putting together voter registration drives.
The election for Senate was a tricky one to call. There wasn’t a single candidate that received over 50% of the vote, so the election split into smaller runoffs.
While the Republican candidates ran together, the president refusing to concede the election made other party members lose faith.
This resulted Warnock receiving over 33% of the popular vote overall, coming one step closer to having control over the senate in the upcoming year.
