Red Wings Cross Their Fingers For COVID Restrictions To Ease By Home Opener

Written by on March 16, 2021

Spring is almost here and that means baseball season is right around the corner.

With COVID-19 on its way out the Rochester Red Wings are staying optimistic about the upcoming season. As it stands, the current COVID restrictions only allow for 10% capacity of Frontier Field but they are trying to negotiate something a little more loose for their May 18th home opener.

According to Red Wings General Manager Dan Mason, All the players went home mid March last year with the hopes that they would be back in two weeks.

“Just the roar of the crowd,” he said. “The roar of the crowd, the sounds of the game, but the people — that’s what I miss the most. Just to see people leave with a smile on their face, win or lose, that’s what it’s all about.”
