President Elect Joe Biden Will Sign Many Executive Orders On His First Day In Office

Written by on January 17, 2021

President Elect Joe Biden has announced that he plans on signing over a dozen executive orders when he takes office, including lifting the travel ban on predominantly Muslim countries and rejoining the Paris Accords.

According to his chief of staff Ron Klain, he’ll also be signing orders that will halt evictions and student loan payments during the pandemic.

His stack of orders also includes issuing a mask mandate on all federal property in an effort to advance the policy in a way that was impossible under the Trump administration.

“During the campaign, President-elect Biden pledged to take immediate action to start addressing these crises and build back better,” Klain writes. “As president, he will keep those promises and sign dozens of executive orders, presidential memoranda, and directives to Cabinet agencies in fulfillment of the promises he made.”
