Police Launch Statewide Speed Week Crackdown

New York Speed Week runs Aug. 3–9, with state, county and local police increasing enforcement to crack down on speeding and other dangerous driving.
Officials say the campaign aims to reduce fatal crashes, with speeding remaining a leading cause of traffic deaths.
The previous Speed Week resulted in more than 56,000 tickets, including 14,005 for speeding.
