PAB Begins Two Investigations Into RPD Policies

The Police Accountability Board (PAB) is launching two investigations into the Rochester Police Departments policies.
For the first investigation the PAB is looking into is incident involving a 9 year old girl back in January 29, 2021. She was handcuffed and put into a patrol car and after not listening to commands by officers pepper spray was used. One officer was suspended and three others were placed on leave.
The second investigation is regarding RPD’s beanbag gun program rollout and training procedures. PAB will evaluate the beanbag gun policies, effectiveness, and how to strengthen them according to the report via Rochesterfirst.com.
