Obama Hosts a Low Key, Lit 60th Birthday Party

Happy Belated Birthday to former President Barack Obama. One of our youngest serving presidents has just turned 60 years old and to celebrate, Obama held a scaled-back party at his mansion over the weekend. Numerous celebrities still made the “family and close friends” cut, such as Beyoncé and Jay-Z, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen, and Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union, George Clooney, Tom Hanks, Stephen Spielberg, and Bruce Springsteen.
According to the New York Post, the Obamas hired a doctor to serve as “COVID coordinator,” and all attendees had to submit negative test results within a certain window for the largely outdoors gathering. Oprah Winfrey and film director Ava Duvernay were among several stars who declined their invitations due to the spread of the Delta variant.
