New York State Scores Well For Staying Home During COVID-19 Pandemic

Written by on April 3, 2020

There is a company that is tracking how well we are doing with the stay at home orders across the state and country. The company called Unacast tracks human mobility data. In other words they use GPS location from our smartphones and other devices.

The social distancing scorecard grades are A-F. It goes off of the reduction of distance traveled and the reduction in travel to non-essential places prior to the COVID-19 outbreak.

So how are we doing in New York State?

Pretty good overall, gold star good, we are tied with five other states for a grade of A-. New York City is doing very well scoring an A-.

As far as Monroe County and Erie County we are right behind New York City with a grade of B.

So Monroe County give yourself a round of applause, we’ve earned it!!

Good job, now let’s do a great job and go for that A.

I love technology! What Unacast is doing is pretty cool and interesting. You can check out their interactive map which is updated daily to see how each state across the country is graded.
