Memorial Fund Created to Honor RCSD Teacher

Peg Witmer was a former teacher at George Mather Forbes School #4 for 25 years. Witmer passed away at age 85 last year and to honor her legacy, friends and family created the Peg Witmer Memorial Fund to provide resources and enhance learning opportunities for students. Funds from the memorial fund will be used to provide things such as educational field trips that teach students about the history of Rochester and real-world applications of the arts.

Jim Witmer, Peg’s son, recently spoke out on what the family hopes to achieve by creating the fund; “That was really what my mom was all about in terms of really finding ways to engage directly with kids and really help them get motivated and interested in learning. that was all that she was about.”
