Yesterday, local Michelle Daniels was honored for years of giving back to her community. Michelle Daniels was awarded a New York State Woman of Distinction by the New York State Senate for her extensive work in Rochester. Over the past several years, Daniels helped develop the Frederick Douglass Club at School 12 and advancing Douglass’ legacy. Daniels had also helped organize efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic to help distribute food, toiletries, and other essential items.
Michelle Daniels shared that this award has a special meaning for her; “This was personal, because it has a lot to do with the work I’ve done with children, and that is my first love, to make sure that I give opportunities and access of resource to the children of this state.”
