Jonathan Majors’ legal team claimed that a “witch hunt” was underway against the actor following his virtual appearance in a Manhattan court on May 9.
Majors is facing charges of assault in connection with a domestic dispute that occurred in March. The Manhattan District Attorney’s office has recently presented additional evidence of the alleged attack, resulting in revised charges.
The victim, an unidentified woman, stated that Majors struck her in the face, causing lacerations behind her ear, and pushed her into the side of a vehicle, causing injuries to her arm and hand.
Majors is facing third-degree assault charges, a class A misdemeanor, that carry a maximum sentence of one year in jail or a three-year probation term. The court has ordered him to stay away from the victim, with a full temporary order of protection in place. The next court hearing is scheduled for June 13.
