Jam Squad Recap: YourCare presents Preventative Health Awareness

YourCare Health Plan is raising the standard of healthcare throughout the Rochester community all summer long with their Preventative Health Awareness Series!
On Wednesday, June 12, 2019 your WDKX Jam Squad attended the YourCare Health Plan Preventative Health Awareness Kick Off Festival. The event was held at the Keeler Park Apartments located at 601 Seneca Manor Drive, right across the street from the Hudson avenue WalMart on the city’s east side. Not only was there an abundance of fresh free popcorn (mmmmmmmm ?) but YourCare also provided fun games and well child visits for the kids, as well as preventative health screenings and tips for living a healthier life.
The staple of this kickoff event were the free mammograms being offered in the Rochester Regional Health Mobile Mammogram Center, it even came with its own certified mammography coach! To me, this was probably the best thing that could have been offered to our community. With health insurance costs preventing many Americans from receiving the proper health treatments and screenings they deserve, it’s nice to know that there are still services they can take advantage of, often times right in their backyard.
