- memory loss that disrupts daily life
- challenges in planning or solving problems
- difficulty competing familiar tasks
- confusion with time or place
- trouble understanding visual images and spatial relationships
- new problems with words in speaking
- misplacing things and losing the ability to retrace steps
- decreased or poor judgement
- withdrawal from work or social activities
- changes in mood or personality
There are various risk factors for cognitive decline and dementia. Age, unfortunately can’t be controlled. But, there are things we can control to improve our brain health. Increasing key healthy habits may lower the risk of cognitive decline and possibly dementia. It’s never too late or early to start making healthier choices for brain health.
