Gusty Storm Leaves Thousands Without Power Across Rochester Area

Utility crews are working Thursday morning to restore power after strong winds from Wednesday night’s storm caused outages across the region.

As of 6:39 a.m. Thursday, the RG&E Outage List reported 2,937 customers without power, including:
- 2,299 in Monroe County
- 493 in Wayne County
- 40 in Ontario County
Power outages affected many residents throughout Wednesday, with electricity going on and off in parts of Monroe County. Around 6 p.m. Wednesday, approximately 1,500 customers were without power before outages increased overnight.
