Greece School District Joins Nationwide Lawsuit Vs. Social Media Companies

Has social media companies played a role in the declining mental health of students? The Greece Central School District thinks so, and they are joining a nationwide lawsuit to help fight it. The district said the school board voted to approve the measure, joining more than 200 districts already a part of the suit, which includes Snapchat, Instagram, TikTok and more. GCSD argues that because of social media, the district had to offer new support structures for students. The Greece School Board President Sean McCabe said this is less about monetary compensation and more about getting these companies to change, and stop exposing children to violent and sexually explicit content.
