Tuesday, Louisiana state officials stated that there have been five deaths due to extreme rain. These deaths are being investigated as weather-related.
The extreme rain has also led to a missing person whose vehicle went off the road and into a canal.
The Lousianna patrol reported a crash Monday night that led to one dead, one missing and three minor injuries. One of the vehicles left the road and was submerged.
CNN reported:
“In East Baton Rouge Parish, the body of a 33-year-old motorist from Plaquemine was found inside of his vehicle Tuesday morning, according to Shane Evans, chief of investigations with the coroner’s office in the parish. A spokesperson from the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s office told CNN that the vehicle was submerged.”
