Family Questions Circumstances of Influencer’s Death in Tanzania

The mysterious death of Ashly Robinson, a 31-year-old South Jersey influencer known as Ashlee Jenae, is drawing international attention as her family searches for answers in Zanzibar, Tanzania.

Robinson had traveled there to celebrate her birthday with her boyfriend, who had proposed just days earlier. After an argument on April 8, the couple reportedly stayed in separate rooms. The next day, her fiancé told her family she had harmed herself and was hospitalized—hours later, they were informed she had died.

Conflicting medical reports have deepened the uncertainty, citing marks on her neck and listing her cause of death as cerebral hypoxia due to strangulation and suffocation. Her family strongly disputes the idea of suicide, saying she showed no signs of distress.
