A Florida doctor has been charged with second-degree manslaughter after allegedly removing a patient’s liver instead of his spleen during a 2024 surgery.
The mistake caused fatal blood loss, killing the 70-year-old patient on the operating table. The doctor’s medical licenses in Florida and Alabama have since been suspended or surrendered.
