Dentist Offices to Reopen June 1

Written by on June 1, 2020

At 3:10pm on Sunday, May 31, Governor Andrew Cuomo tweeted “NEW: New York dentists can reopen statewide tomorrow. Dentists’ offices will be subject to safety and social distancing guidelines.”
This action is based on the recent COVID-19 data that suggests hospitalizations and deaths are falling, thanks in part to the precautions that all New Yorkers have been taking in the interest of public health.
Dental offices are expected to establish their own guidelines, as well as conform to those specified by the Center for Disease Control (CDC), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the American Dental Association (ADA).
The CDC has come up with plans to treat patients with and without COVID-19. These arrangements include: updated information on regulating patient management, administration, work practice controls and sterilization & disinfection procedures.
