China Bans Both Clubhouse And BBC News (Opinion)

Some stuff happening around the world that may be of interest to you is BBC World News and Clubhouse banned. Not in America but in China both a day apart.

This is pretty interesting considering the article BBC wrote on Clubhouse App a day before the ban of the International news company. I will briefly tell you my thoughts on why I do not think China banning BBC is no coincidence.

Again, this is my thought on why China banned BBC News.

So on Wednesday BBC published a news story about the popular invite-only app Clubhouse. The news piece talked about how the Clubhouse app slid through Beijing’s “great firewall” and allowed unfiltered and uncensored internet. That of course is a big no-no in China. With the popular app being able to get through millions of people in China accessed the app some even paying to get an invite.

People from all over China logged on and a lot of people experiencing uncensored internet for the first time. Some individuals from Taiwan and mainland China were going back and forth about politics and wanting to unify and live together peacefully.

Then there were the discussions on Xinjiang. This is the place where China has been accused of having concentration camps imprisoning Uighurs and other Muslim minorities. This and much more was all included in the article by BBC News. And this would be why I think it’s not a coincidence China banned BBC. Letting the world know China’s strict censorship wall or filter failed and people in China got a glimpse of the real internet and real information.

CNN reported China banned BBC News because of their reporting on China’s response to COVID-19. China said BBC News “infringed the principles of truthfulness and impartiality in journalism.”

Interesting.
