BenDaDonnn Says He’s Taking Legal Action Against Police Department Following Taser Arrest In Texas (UPDATE)

BenDaDonnn says he is suing the police department in College Park, Texas, following his Taser arrest. The content creator was tased and arrested following a Texas A&E football game on Sunday, October 4.

The Shade Room reported that BenDaDonnn, whose real name is Benjamin Benius Beard, was arrested on Sunday following a football game at Texas A&M University. Beard was charged with Evading Arrest and  booked into the Brazos County Detention Center. His security guard, Kenny Carter, was also arrested, and Beard spoke out afterward. The incident happened outside of The Spot on Northgate at approximately 1:20 a.m., per NDTV.

On Monday, October 5, BenDaDonnn spoke out in a live stream on KICK, and he said he was suing the police department. The live stream featured Beard sporting an orange jail jumpsuit as he spoke. Furthermore, a fake jail cell can be seen in the background in a video clip. Beard said that he noticed the police pushing people out of the street.

“The first thing I say is, ‘Whoa whoa whoa wow,” he said. “Why are you pushing? What are you pushing him for?”

The content creator added that it was one cop who he has an issue with. Beard said the cop was aggressive with him from the get-go as he pushed people onto the sidewalk. He added that his security guard knocked the officer’s hand when the cop tried to detain him. Within seconds, Beard said he was knocked to the ground and Tased, and he said he is suing.

“First of all, we got legal involved,” he added. “This is not a knock at all police because the rest of the police were actually chill…. Of course, we suing…. Besides that one bike cop, it was that one bike cop…. Hey Bro.You don’t have to put your hands nobody… In the next 30 seconds, my a*s was on the ground.”

Furthermore, Beard wondered why he was charged with evading arrest when he was only talking back to the police.

“All I heard was the spark go off,” he added. “How did I get charged with evading arrest?”

The Shade Room reported that BenDaDonn was Tasered and arrested on Sunday, October 4. He was released on a $7,000 bond, according to KBTX.

Beard was live-streaming on KICK when he was allegedly knocked to the ground and Tasered by the police. A video clip of the incident went viral, and it features BenDaDonnn being Tasered.

The College Station Police Department released a statement following the arrest, per KBTX. The police claim they were attempting to clear people from the road in front of the bar when the incident occurred.

“Northgate is a great place to go and have a good time, especially after an Aggie football win,” reads the statement. “However, the dangers our officers face when dealing with overly intoxicated individuals, drivers, and patrons can quickly turn a good night into chaos.” The police claimed they “deployed a less-lethal tool in an attempt to gain compliance.”
