NY Health Care Workers will be Required to get COVID-19 Booster Shot

Written by on January 8, 2022

After only recently mandating the COVID-19 vaccine for health care workers, New York State Governor Kathy Hochul will soon be requiring a new booster mandate. Yesterday in a press conference, Governor Hochul stated that health care workers will be given two weeks to get the shot after they are eligible and only medical exemptions will be allowed.

Governor Hochul stated: “We are the first state in the nation to institute this. This has been such an important priority. We’ve already been seeing what is happening in health care facilities. Staff is getting sick. They are leaving. We need them to get well – and the best fortification they can to do that means getting a booster shot as well.”
