Former RIT Hockey Arena Now Houses Temporary Campus Library

Written by on August 26, 2021

Displaced from its usual location by construction, RIT now houses its temporary campus library in a vacant hockey arena since 2014. The arena now holds all the library’s journals and circulating books plus student seating, computers, and the circulation desk, however, special collections will remain at the old location during construction. The hockey arena campus library will remain until 2023 when a major renovation at the main Wallace building and Student Hall for Exploration and Development is expected to be completed.

Director of Circulation Services Jason Stryker stated; “You can walk around the upper edge like you’re watching a hockey game, but you’re watching students do their work and browse for books and things like that.”
