Kayne West’s Third Donda Listening Party and Seeking to Legally Change His Name

Born as Kayne Omari West, this 44-year-old rapper is looking to legally change his name. According to court documents obtained by People, Kayne West has reportedly applied to change his legal name from Kanye Omari West to Ye. In the court documents that were obtained, West says his decision for the name change is for “personal reason” and didn’t provide further explanation. In order for the procedure to go through, a California judge would need to sign off on the petition.

Kanye announced he would be changing his stage name to his album Ye back in 2018. Kanye West’s next public appearance is slated to be today, August 26th, for the third listening party for his highly-anticipated tenth studio album Donda at Soldier Field in Chicago.
