Reaction To Second Stimulus Package Cash Payment Good And Bad

As we know Congress has passed a new stimulus bill that would give Americans a $600 direct payment. With the news of the new stimulus package, social media is a buzz about the $600 payment.

For some people, they are offended the government would give Americans such a small payment. But for others, they feel it is good because it’s at least something to help in this difficult time. However, if you are unemployed there will be a $300 weekly federal enhancement benefit on top of the $600 one-time payment.

Also, if you have children you will receive $600 per child under this second stimulus package. The bill will raise SNAP benefits 15% for six months but it will not expand eligibility.

There will be assistance with people who rent and are facing eviction due to loss of income from the pandemic. It does not say much about people who own homes but we can have Dr. Cheryl McKeiver look into this further.
