Drug Companies Are Hard At Work Testing COVID-19 Vaccine

Pfizer and BioNTech have been hard at work researching and testing a possible vaccine against the coronavirus.
On Wednesday, the pharmaceutical companies announced that initial trials looked promising and seemed optimistic about the future of the vaccine.
In the most recent trial, 45 people were tested. 36 of them received the vaccine and 9 got placebo shots. Patients who were given 2 shots, 3 weeks apart, had higher rates of antibodies that are able to stop the coronavirus from entering healthy cells. The only side effects reported were a slight fever or irritation around the injection site.
Pfizer has confirmed that this trial is one of 4 possible choices, and seems to be doing the best. Once more data is collected they will begin to go forward with the best candidate and get to work on distributing them to the public.
