New York’s professional sports teams are back!

Governor Cuomo made the announcement on Sunday that MLB, NBA, NHL and MLS can come back to their facilities.

It’s been two months since any professional sports activity was allowed in New York State due to the COVID-19 shutdown. Cuomo told members of the press “I believe that sports can come back without having people in the stadium, without having people in the arena, do it. Do it,” Cuomo went on to say “We want people to be able to watch sport. To the extent people are still staying home, it gives people something to do. It’s a return to normalcy.” A number of leagues still waiting for decisions from their player unions and team owners.

Governor Cuomo has taken the ball out of his court and put it in theirs. When and how sports league’s will do it, remains to be seen.

Live Sports! No Fans! I’ll take it!
