Canandaigua mailman accused of mail fraud

Sekou Diakate, a 41-year-old postal delivery person in Canandaigua, has been accused of mail fraud. According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, Diakate allegedly stole checks while on his delivery route, altered them, and deposited them into his own checking account in 2023. He was arrested and placed in pre-arraignment detention at the Ontario County Jail. The U.S. Postal Inspectors assisted in the arrest.
