Three Rochester area drive-in movie theaters re-opening for the Spring season

Three drive-in movie theaters in the Rochester area, the Vintage Drive-In in Avon, the Rose City Drive-In in Newark, and the Silver Lake Twin Drive-In in Perry, are gearing up for their spring season openings. The Vintage Drive-In welcomes moviegoers from Friday through Sunday at 7 p.m., featuring titles like “Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire,” “Kung Fu Panda 4,” and “Wonka,” and plans to open daily after Memorial Day. Meanwhile, the Rose City Drive-In, returning from a 40-year hiatus, retains its classic 100 by 45-foot screen. It will have a soft opening from April 5 through April 7, showcasing “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” at 7:30 p.m. each evening, followed by a reopening on April 8 for the Total Solar Eclipse viewing. Both venues have updated amenities, including a new concession stand and digital projector at Rose City. Ticket information is available on their respective websites.
