2 Deadly Shooting Over The Weekend On North Clinton Avenue

Rochester police say 35-year-old Shakara Green was killed in a shooting at the intersection of Clifford Avenue and North Street early Sunday morning. Green was pronounced dead at the scene. The Rochester Police Department says three 18-year-olds, a 20-year-old, and a 21-year-old were also injured in the shooting and were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The City of Rochester said that resources will be available to students and staff after a 14-year-old girl was killed in a shooting on Morrill Street early Saturday morning. Crowds had began to form along North Clinton Avenue near Upper Falls Boulevard around 10:30 p.m., according to police, with several officers working to try to disperse the crowd.

Rochester police said they responded to North Clinton Avenue near Morrill Street for a report of multiple gunshots fired. After a crowd dispersed on North Clinton Avenue, officers found a 14-year-old who had been shot at least once in the upper body. She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. Police identified the girl as 14-year-old Zahnia Barr. The city said that resources will be available to students and staff at the David F. Gantt R-Center on Monday from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
