Zuckerberg Voices Concern Over How The Government Is Handling The Pandemic

During a live stream interview between Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and top infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci, Zuckerberg voiced his concern in how the federal government has handled the coronavirus pandemic.

Zuckerberg is quoted, saying:

“I just think that it was avoidable and it it’s really disappointing that we still don’t have adequate testing, that the credibility of top scientists like yourself and the CDC are being undermined and until recently that parts of the administration were calling into question whether people should even follow basic best practices like wearing masks.”

This comes as a response to the records that the US keeps setting for coronavirus infection rates. While other countries have still had a hard time, they have seen better results.

Fauci agreed, saying that the spike in cases is most likely due to states reopening their economies too early and ignoring the advice of experts. He added that some other states have indeed safely reopened, but some of their residents “went from lockdown to caution into the wind.” Fauci also said that the failure is in part because the US didn’t act as a whole to lower the infection rate.
