Wu-Tang Clan helps make coronavirus rules easier to remember

Written by on March 19, 2020

Since cancelling several planned concerts days ago, Wu-Tang Clan has been busy trying to come up with solutions to stop the spread of the 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19). On Sunday, March 15, the group posted a message to fans on Twitter designed to help everyone remember basic rules about how to deal with the virus. They used their group name as an anagram for guidance:

W: Wash hands
U: Use mask properly
T: Touch nothing
A: Avoid large crowds
N: Never touch your face with unclean hands
G: Go to the hospital if you have severe symptoms

The hip hop artists introduced these guidelines with their 1993 single “Protect Ya Neck.” They also stated that they plan to print thousands of posters that repeat these rules and distribute them throughout New York City. They recommended that fans and others do the same.

Wu-Tang Clan still has tour dates scheduled for May, but those dates and times might change depending on how the government’s response to the pandemic progresses over the upcoming weeks. It’s important that fans continue to check back for news about these and other changes in entertainment taking place around the world.
