Woman Wins $7.1M After Food Truck Illegally Towed for Nearly 2 Years

A Kansas City woman won $7.1 million after her Crazy Tacos food truck was illegally towed and held for nearly two years by Haney’s Trucking and Tow.

The company tried to charge her thousands and even attempted to take ownership of the truck.

A jury found the tow unlawful, awarding her $6.9 million in punitive and $200,000 in compensatory damages.

Though she got the truck back, it was badly damaged. The towing company has since shut down.
