Woman Steals Over $500K From Church

New Jersey woman was arrested after allegedly stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from a church she volunteered at.

Reports say Taisha Smith-DeJoseph oversaw the finances at Saint Paul’s Baptist church in Florence Township, New Jersey. She allegedly has been stealing from the church for 5 years from 2014 to 2019.
Mrs. Smith-Dejoseph opened an electronic bank account in the churches name and wrote tons of reimbursement checks to herself from the account. According to police reports she embezzled $561,000 and used the churches money to pay for her personal bills like rent, car note, satellite TV, and the venue for her wedding.
